THE RED ROOM MAKES IMPRESSIVE START

THE RED ROOM, the brand new series from OGM Pictures in Turkey, has made a hugely impressive start to its broadcast on TV8 in Turkey. The first episode was ranked number one in the all important AB demo, and as of the second episode it is now number one in ALL demographics! THE RED ROOM scored a huge share of 23% in AB on Friday 11th September, in the face of stiff competition from popular summer drama series as well as returning favourites.

The Red Room is set in a therapist’s office in Istanbul, where we see vulnerable women who pass through to get treatment and handle their innermost problems. The series tells us various striking stories, which are built around the fact that our past experiences can have a major impact in our future.

THE PROMISE SELLS OVERSEAS AS SECOND SEASON STARTS IN TURKEY

Eccho Rights has closed several international sales deals for Turkish Drama series The Promise, which has just made its second season debut in Turkey.

The series, which scored record breaking ratings for its host broadcaster Kanal 7, has been picked up in Poland (TVP), India (MX Player) Lithuania (SIA All Media), and Romania (Antena Group/Happy Channel). These territories join Imedi TV in Georgia which became the first international broadcaster to acquire the series earlier this year.

The Promise returned last week to Turkish screens with the ratings once again impressing for Kanal 7. The series scored more than three times Kanal 7’s average share and the channel's rank rose from 8th overall to 3rd place during broadcast of the tension-filled, romantic, family drama.

Cennet claims new territories

Eccho Rights has sold Turkish Drama series Cennet to a host of new countries around the world.

The Süreç Film-produced hit from 2018 will air on Nova in Spain, on OBN in Bosnia, has been picked up by Canal+ for sub-Saharan Africa and has also been acquired by MKCS Global in Myanmar, to be the first Turkish Drama broadcast on its female-skewing channel 4ladies.

Cennet was a top performer for ATV in Turkey last year, scoring very high ratings in a traditionally difficult Sunday evening prime time slot.

The romantic drama series has now sold to more than 50 countries worldwide.

The Promise is Eccho Rights' latest hit series

We have added daily drama series The Promise to our catalogue, the latest hit production from Karamel Yapim in Turkey.

Debuting on Kanal 7 last week, the series scored very strong ratings, reaching a market share more than double that of the broadcaster's average audience. The Promise follows the tortuous romance between a young couple, brought together from different worlds by a vow that each makes: the beautiful Reyhan promises to take care of the family of an old friend who is diagnosed with a terminal illness, while the man she is pledged to marry makes his own promise - to teach his dying father a lesson by sabotaging the marriage.

“This is a heartbreaking, emotional story that will captivate viewers around the world, just as Karamel Yapim’s last hit, Prisoner of Love," says Handan Özkubat, Eccho Rights’ Director of Turkish Drama. RCN picks up Insider as first ever Turkish Drama

RCN in Colombia have acquired their first ever Turkish Drama, picking up the smash hit series Insider. Produced by Ay Yapim, Insider was one of the most significant Turkish Dramas releases of recent years, scoring record ratings for Show TV, and inspiring an obsessive fanbase.

In Latin America the series broke viewer records for Mega in Chile, while Eccho Rights have also placed the show with broadcasters in Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay.

“Turkish Drama’s success in Latin America is well documented but there is still room for the genre to grow in the region. Eccho Rights seals package deal with Indian Times Internet

Times Internet in India have licensed a trio of Turkish Drama series from Eccho Rights to add to the launch line up for an upcoming OTT platform.

The package consists of Cennet and New Bride, both produced by Sürec Film, and is rounded out by Brave and Beautiful, the global sales smash from Ay Yapim.

In the past years we have had a number of Turkish script remakes in India but broadcasters are increasingly open to the opportunity to buy an off the shelf product that has already succeeded around the world.”

Stiletto Vendetta will return in September!

After a highly successful run, Stiletto Vendetta will return in September for season two. Following the dramatic conclusion of the first season that saw the identity of the series’ murder victim finally revealed, a number of questions remain to be answered this Autumn, when the second season will play out on Star TV. NEW BRIDE MOVING IN TO NEW TERRITORIES

New Bride, the chart-topping comedy-drama from Turkey has found success in Kazakhstan, while becoming the latest Turkish series to enter the Malaysian market where it will air on NTV 7. Bosnian OBN have also picked up the series for their daily access prime-time slot.

TV 7 in Kazakhstan added New Bride to its line up in October, and has reported a doubling of its average share during its daily prime time broadcast. This has contributed to an overall upward trend in the channel’s performance, which has reported a 36% increase in its total share in the market place this Winter.

“New Bride has been one of the most successful series in Turkey this past year, regularly topping the ratings charts in a fiercely competitive Saturday prime time,” says Handan Özkubat, Head of Eccho Rights’ Istanbul office. “The success in Kazakhstan demonstrates its great appeal as a fun, yet romantic show that appeals to the whole family.”

Presenting Stiletto Vendetta: another Ay Yapim hit!

We have extended our cooperation with Ay Yapim, announcing today that we will handle international sales for Stiletto Vendetta, the latest series from Turkish Drama’s biggest production house. This amazing new drama series follows three women, friends since childhood, who are unexpectedly reunited with a fourth - the victim of a cruel teenage prank that left her ashamed, devastated and forced to flee the girls she thought were her friends. As the group get to know each other once again, old scores need to be settled, while new rivalries have fatal consequences…

The series (local title Ufak Tefek Cinayetler) has been earning increasingly strong ratings and reviews on Star TV in Turkey since its launch in October. In the all-important AB demographic the series has risen to the top spot with over 20% share in the face of very strong competition on Tuesday evening prime time.

beIN picks up trio of Turkish Dramas for brand new channel

beIN has picked up three Turkish drama series to air daily as part of a new entertainment and lifestyle offering on the newly launched channel beIN Drama HD1.

For the brand new channel, Eccho Rights has licensed three series for the 6pm, 8pm and 10pm slots on a daily basis. The first is Heart of the City (Bu Sžehir Arkandan Gelecek) produced by Ay Yapim for ATV earlier this year. The second title having its first exclusive run in MENA on beIN is New Bride (Yeni Gelin) from Sürec Film. The series is currently in its second season on Show TV in Turkey and has topped the ratings in Saturday prime time each week since its return in September. The third series in the beIN package is Winter Sun (Kis GünesŸi) produced by Endemol Shine Turkey for Show TV.

First raft of sales announced for Cennet!

Today we announced the first 6 international sales for the new Sürec Film series Cennet (Cennet’in Gözyaslari) with international interest in the series intensifying since its launch at Mipcom.

The Turkish Drama series that tells of a young woman’s struggle to reconnect with her biological mother after years of estrangement, has now been picked up in Bulgaria (BTV), Romania (Happy Channel), Lithuania and Latvia (SIA), Kosovo (Koha TV) and Georgia (Rustavi 2).

We have had amazing feedback on the series since its launch in Turkey in October, and will be concluding a number of further deals early in the New Year. Look out for Cennet as one of the most talked about titles at NATPE in January!

LIFE OF SECRETS ADDED TO ECCHO RIGHTS CATALOGUE

Eccho Rights and Most Production confirmed a deal during last week’s Mipcom for the international distribution of brand new series Life of Secrets (Hayat Sırları).

The series stars Hazar Ergüçlü (Kuzey Guney, Medcezir) alongside Ekin Koç (Magnificent Century) and premieres next week on Star TV in Turkey.

The story follows a seemingly happy and humble family. Mustafa Kuzgun runs a restaurant with his wife in a quiet neighbourhood. Cennet joins the Eccho Rights line-up

Eccho Rights is bringing a brand new series from top Turkish producers Sürec Film to Cannes; Cennet.

Airing this season on ATV, Cennet (Cennet'in Gözyaşları) stars Alma Ada and Berk Atan in the leading roles. Cennet (Ada) is an ambitious young woman from a tough background. When the woman she longs to work for turns out to be the mother that abandoned her as a baby, her motivation switches, having always sought the maternal love she has missed since birth. Yet her appearance rings alarm bells for her mother who suspects foul play, and tries everything to get rid of Cennet from her life once more.

Brave And Beautiful leads the way for Canal Uno

The latest round of sales deals for Brave And Beautiful includes news that the series will be the prime time drama highlight for the brand new Canal Uno, launching this week in Colombia.

And on Tuesday the series will air for the first time on Wapa TV in Puerto Rico, making 3 debuts in a week following last week's premiere in Mexico on Imagen Televisión.

We can also reveal sales in Paraguay where Brave And Beautiful will be on Telefuturo later this year, and in Bulgaria where bTV become the latest channel in Europe to pick up this amazing Ay Yapim production!

Ay Yapim dramas coming to Mexico!

Imagen Televisión in Mexico premiered Brave And Beautiful this month, having concluded a deal with Eccho Rights for the star studded Ay Yapim drama. Later this year they will also air Insider, another huge hit for Ay Yapim.

Brave And Beautiful has been the subject of a number of highly competitive bidding wars in the international market, with the huge worldwide following of its lead actors Kivanc Tatlitug and Tuba Büyüküstün acting as a catalyst. In Mexico the series is titled Cezür.

Meanwhile Insider has piqued international buyers’ interests with phenomenal performance in Turkey, where the show was an unprecedented success for channel Show TV and obtained record breaking viewing figures online.

Insider enjoys Mega ratings success!

Insider has debuted with stunning results on Mega in Chile.

The series went on air of Tuesday last week, scoring 19,5% rating for the first episode, with audience share at over 30%.

Mega was the first channel to bring Turkish Drama to Latin America, and has enjoyed a string of ratings hits over the past few years, with various viewing records broken by series such as Ezel, Karadayi, Fatmagul and Medcezir.

70 million viewers for season one of Phi - so far!

The final episode of Phi reached 3 million viewers within 72 hours on Puhu TV, pushing total viewing numbers for the series to over 70 million by the end of June.

These numbers put Ay Yapim's groundbreaking series among the most watched Turkish series anywhere during this spring, despite being exclusive to Puhu's online platform and benefiting from no traditional linear broadcast.

The first original content produced for Puhu TV, Phi has also contributed to a surge in the channel's success. Since the launch of the series Puhu has scored a number of new landmarks, with use of the platform more than doubling following Phi's initial release, and since then more than 20% of Turkey's entire internet-connected population tuning in to the series.

New Bride finishes with top ratings!

New Bride, the comedy-drama from Surec Film, has finished its first season in Turkey as the number one drama series on Saturday nights. In a slot traditionally dominated by entertainment series, New Bride scored over 16% average share, and regularly topped the ratings charts in a weekly battle with Survivor, a long-running favourite in Turkey.

This represents another hit series for Show TV, who have traditionally averaged around 8% share in prime time.

Following this success, the series has been renewed for a second season which will be in production later this year, to air in the Autumn/Winter season 2017/18.
