When Selma and Mihran are born in the same village at the same time, a wise old man, Setrak, foretells their shared destiny: "They will love each other deeply. But something terrible will happen, and they will part ways," he says.
Years later, Selma and Mihran fall in love and get engaged. Before their wedding day however, a fire breaks out, destroying Mihran's house. Selma is blamed for the fire, and just as in the prophesy, the couple break up and Mihran moves to Istanbul. Selma and Mihran haven't spoken since that day, but when Setrak dies, he leaves a mysterious inheritance in Istanbul for the two of them, forcing Selma to travel across the country and reunite with her childhood love.
Initially struggling to adapt to life in Istanbul, Selma eventually realizes, as Setrak predicted, that hers and Mihrans’ destinies are intertwined. Despite their long separation, a new romance begins to kindle between the two, one they cannot resist.
