Ola and Hilma are a happy couple, but with one thing missing – they are desperate to have children. Surrounded by friends with happy family lives, and with new pregnancies and babies seemingly constantly announced within their social group, their inability to conceive is felt acutely and they are worried that they might never have kids. They have seemingly tried everything, with fertility treatments, sperm donators and more, but their attempts are fruitless – and all the while, well-meaning friends and family keep asking if they’re thinking about starting a family, which only adds to their frustration and desperation. As the pressure to have a baby builds from all corners – their friends, family, but above all else, themselves – their relationship is put under stress, but as the attempts to get pregnant become increasingly desperate they find a deeper level to their love that is just enough for them to carry on trying…
