For Chief Inspector Deniz Baran Dağ, justice isn’t just a job, it’s how he survives. Having shut away his emotions since losing his older sister years ago, he is shaken to the core when his niece Neşe, a young police officer he trained himself, is found dead. Everyone believes it was suicide. Deniz is certain it was murder.
At the same time, forensic psychologist Işık returns to Istanbul from London to search for her missing father, Levent. When an unidentified body is found in a forest north of the city, their paths collide. Deniz suspects Levent is linked to Neşe’s death, while Işık is determined to prove his innocence. One trusts the evidence, the other trusts the human mind, and their constant clashes slowly give way to a love neither can resist.
But Neşe is not the only officer whose death was written off as suicide, and the trail leads to a dark network inside the police force and to the clinic run by Işık’s own mother. As Deniz risks his badge, his reputation and everyone he trusts, the return of his estranged brother stirs up family secrets he thought were buried for good. And Işık is hiding a truth of her own. With the killer always one step ahead, will their love prove to be their greatest strength, or their deadliest weakness?
