ECCHO RIGHTS AND WOWOW BRING HONOUR TO JAPAN

Leading Japanese broadcaster WOWOW has acquired hit drama series Honour. Produced by Bigster for Nordic Entertainment Group’s Viaplay, Honour is already one of the most successful Swedish TV exports of all time, and has now sold to more than 60 territories worldwide. The series will occupy one of WOWOW's Premiere slots on its WOWOW On Demand streaming service, where top US and European drama series are showcased exclusively for the Japanese audience.

Debuting in 2019, HONOUR has proven hugely popular both in Sweden and abroad. The series became the first Viaplay Original ever to secure international pre-sales and returned in the spring of 2021 for a well received second season. A third season has been commissioned, to premiere in 2022.

ECCHO RIGHTS SELLS SCANDINAVIAN TITLES TO BULGARIA

Eccho Rights has closed a deal with bTV Media Group in Bulgaria for a package of series hailing from Sweden, including dramatic thriller Conspiracy of Silence, long-running crime series Maria Wern and female-led drama Honour.

“Scandi drama continues to enjoy enormous popularity around the world and we are very content to bring these outstanding titles to Bulgaria. The Balkans are very interesting for us not only in terms of sales but also looking at the developments in original programming from the region”, says Nicola Söderlund, Managing Partner at Eccho Rights at Eccho Rights.
