Eccho Rights lands My Sweet Lie on Mediaset Italy

Eccho Rights has licensed the hit Turkish comedy-drama My Sweet Lie (Benim Tatlı Yalanım) to Mediaset in Italy, where the series premiered on Canale 5 this August, and will continue to air daily on the broadcaster’s streaming service, Mediaset Infinity.
Produced by O3 Medya for Star TV, My Sweet Lie was one of the top-rated Turkish dramas of its launch season and has since travelled widely around the world. The series stars Furkan Palalı, Aslı Bekiroğlu and Lavinya Ünlüer in a warm, funny and emotionally rich story built around one of the most universal themes of all - parenthood.
The deal marks the latest collaboration between Eccho Rights and Mediaset, one of Italy’s leading media groups and a long-standing home for Turkish drama on Italian screens. Mediaset has previously acquired a string of Eccho Rights titles, including My Home My Destiny, Everywhere I Go, Brave and Beautiful and Kurt Seyit and Sura.
Melis Hamamcıoğlu, Director of Digital Media Acquisition & Content Sales at Eccho Rights, who concluded the deal, said: “Italy has become one of the most exciting markets for Turkish drama in Western Europe, and Mediaset has been central to that story. My Sweet Lie is exactly the kind of warm, universal series that connects with Italian viewers, and to see it land here just days after our Portuguese deal shows how much appetite there now is for these titles right across the region.”
The agreement follows last week’s announcement that My Sweet Lie had been acquired by The Walt Disney Company for STAR Life in Portugal, as part of a two-title package alongside Everywhere I Go. Together, the deals underline the accelerating momentum of Turkish drama across major Western European territories, where broadcasters and audiences alike are embracing the genre’s blend of emotional storytelling, strong characters and broad family appeal.

Eccho Rights secures first presale for the Hatmaker with MBC group
Eccho Rights has closed the first international deal for The Hatmaker (Şapkacı Kadınlar), O3 Medya’s new period drama starring Pınar Deniz and Selahattin Paşalı. MBC Group has acquired the series for its streaming platform Shahid and its linear channels across MENA.
The presale was concluded during the first day of MIPCOM this week, before filming on the project begins in November.
Set in the early 1920s, as Türkiye undergoes profound change, the series follows Ayşe, whose happy family life is shattered by a brutal attack. In its aftermath, her husband Rıza abandons her. Five years later, hardship drives her to İzmir with her children, sister and mother-in-law. There, in the ruins left by the Great Fire, an unlikely bond with an elderly woman introduces her to the craft of hatmaking. It offers Ayşe the chance to build a livelihood for herself and for other women. But İzmir also brings Ayşe face to face with Rıza, now married into one of the city’s most powerful families. As Ayşe fights to build a future on her own terms, the husband who once abandoned her becomes a powerful threat to her independence.
Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights, said: “To have The Hatmaker secured by MBC just as opened the stand in Cannes says everything about the appetite for this series. MBC is a long-standing partner who knows their audiences extremely well, and they recognised straight away the strength of Ayşe’s story and the star power of Pınar Deniz and Selahattin Paşalı. There is no better way to open MIPCOM.”
Saner Ayar, Founder and Managing Partner at O3 Medya, said: “For buyers to commit to The Hatmaker before production has begun is a real vote of confidence in the story, our cast and our team. We are delighted to be off to such a strong start with Eccho Rights.”
The Hatmaker is created and written by Necati Şahin, directed by Ömür Atay and produced by Suzan Sümeli for O3 Medya.

Eccho Rights launches Kanal 7 daily drama Asiye at MIPCOM
Eccho Rights will launch Asiye, the new daily drama produced by Kino Film Productions for Turkish broadcaster Kanal 7, at MIPCOM in Cannes. Presales open ahead of the series’ November premiere on Kanal 7, with filming due to begin on 17 October.
Asiye is the latest title from Eccho Rights’ long-running partnership with Kanal 7, which has already delivered international successes including Legacy, Winds of Love and Behind the Veil, the highest-rating daily drama ever broadcast in Turkey and now in its fourth season.
Seven years ago, Asiye lost her husband, her newborn son and her freedom in a single day. Now released from prison, she saves a drowning boy at the gates of one of Istanbul’s most powerful families, not knowing he is the son she believed she would never see again.
The series is directed by Taner Tunç and Nuh Şen, who have both directed Kanal 7’s long-running hit Legacy. Esengül Aypek stars as Asiye, with Ferhat Işıktaş as İlyas.
Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights, said: “Kanal 7 knows exactly how to make daily drama that travels, and Asiye has everything that made Behind the Veil and Legacy such international successes: a mother’s love, a buried truth and a powerful family with everything to hide. With a directing team that knows this genre inside out, MIPCOM is the perfect chance for buyers to secure this highly anticipated series before it airs.”
