Eccho Rights recruits new Sales & Acquisitions Executive for Scandinavia
Stockholm based distributor Eccho Rights have recruited Lisa Widén as Sales & Acquisitions Executive for the Scandinavian market.
Widén comes from Film Capital Stockholm, where, as Head of Production, she has worked on the development and financing of more than 50 film and television projects. Some of her recent co-producer credits include STHLM REKVIEM for C More, JORDSKOTT for SVT and BEFORE WE DIE a co-production between SVT and ZDF.
In her new role she will continue to work closely with development of Scandinavian drama series that have become an increasingly important part of Eccho Rights' offering. In the past two years Eccho Rights have represented series such as HONOUR, CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE and INVISIBLE HEROES, becoming involved from an early stage in substantial sales and marketing efforts to establish a presence in the international market place and in the case of HONOUR, securing unprecedented pre-sales for a Viaplay series.
Nicola Soderlund, Managing Partner at Eccho Rights says: "Lisa has the perfect background to take our work in the Scandinavian market to the next level. While we continue to look for new and developing markets to partner with worldwide, we believe that the quality and potential of series coming from producers in our home region has huge potential so we are looking to ramp up our efforts here, utilising Lisa's experience both in production, development and sales."
As well as handling development projects with local producers, Widén will also take charge of Eccho Rights’ sales efforts on the Scandinavian market. In recent years Eccho Rights has notably brought four Turkish Drama series to public broadcaster SVT, which became the first channel in Western Europe to acquire a Turkish series.
Lisa Widén adds: “I have been lucky enough to see local productions at close quarters during the past few years but what especially excites me about working with Eccho Rights is the company's global vision, and the opportunity to expand our work not only with Scandinavian producers but also new territories worldwide.”
