OGM Titles licensed to Spain & Chile

New deals have been concluded for Golden Boy and Chrysalis during Content Americas in Miami.

Atresmedia has acquired Golden Boy for Spain, the latest title from Turkey for the broadcast group that first introduced Turkish drama to the Spanish market in 2018. José Antonio Salso, Head of Acquisitions & International Sales of Atresmedia: “Golden Boy is a hugely exciting title, and we can’t wait to bring it to our viewers in Spain - we are dedicated to bringing only the best premium dramas to our channels and Golden Boy is without doubt the top title from Turkey this season."

In Chile, Mega – the leading broadcast station - another channel at the forefront of Turkish drama’s global explosion in the past decade - has picked up both Golden Boy and Chrysalis. Manuela Velasco, Head of Acquisitions of Mega “At Mega we are proud of our position as leading broadcasters of Turkish series in the LATAM region, and we are delighted to add two more premium titles that will bring many moments of unmissable drama to our audiences."

“Golden Boy has been an astonishing success, with ratings exceeding anything we’ve seen for years in Turkey. Meanwhile Chrysalis has been consistently at the top of the viewing charts across 3 seasons and more than 60 weeks of broadcast. We are excited to see these titles continue to flourish througout the Spanish speaking world,” says Barbora Suster, Head of Latin America and Iberia at Eccho Rights.

Cennet claims new territories

Eccho Rights has sold Turkish Drama series Cennet to a host of new countries around the world.

The Süreç Film-produced hit from 2018 will air on Nova in Spain, on OBN in Bosnia, has been picked up by Canal+ for sub-Saharan Africa and has also been acquired by MKCS Global in Myanmar, to be the first Turkish Drama broadcast on its female-skewing channel 4ladies.

Cennet was a top performer for ATV in Turkey last year, scoring very high ratings in a traditionally difficult Sunday evening prime time slot.

The romantic drama series has now sold to more than 50 countries worldwide.
