ECCHO RIGHTS BRINGS SCANDINAVIAN TITLES TO TOPIC
Eccho Rights has sold a trio of Scandinavian titles to Topic, a new streaming service launching on November 21, 2019 in the United States and Canada.
Highly successful Swedish drama HONOUR, which was recently renewed for a second season, premiered on Viaplay in August to record-breaking viewing figures. Based on an idea by Sofia Helin the series was developed together with Alexandra Rapaport, Julia Dufvenius and Anja Lundqvist who also star. The series is produced by Stockholm-based production company Bigster (co-headed by Rapaport).
Coming from Sweden as well is the gripping thriller CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE produced by Brain Academy. Directed by Charlotte Brändström, known around the world for her work on acclaimed series such as Outlander, the series explores the murky world of the international arms trade. The series premiered on Viaplay in September 2018.
Award-winning series INVISIBLE HEROES follows the remarkable exploits of Finnish diplomat Tapani Brotherus. The series was commissioned in a unique collaboration between Finnish broadcaster YLE and Chilevisión with a successful run in Finland this spring and an upcoming launch this fall in Chile. Recently, the drama was awarded the Mini-Series Silver Bird Prize at this year’s Seoul Drama Awards as well as the Special Jury Award at the Festival de la Fiction in La Rochelle. Furthermore, Invisible Heroes was nominated for the Venice TV Awards as Best TV Series and was part of the lineup of the Serial Killer Festival in Brno, the Serielizados Fest in Barcelona and the Göteborg Film Festival.

North Star scores top ratings in Turkey
North Star roduced by Sürec Film for Show TV is developing incredibly well on Saturday nights in Turkey. The series has almost doubled the ratings from the strong start in September, now being the unquestioned No.1 in all target groups. North Star scores a stable 8% ratings and 20% share.
The romantic drama tells the story of Kuzey who grew up in a rural village in the north of Turkey where life was simple - he would get a job work in the family business, marry a local girl, have children of his own and then the cycle would start over again. But he couldn't escape the lure of the city, and having moved away to study as a young man he decided to stay and build a new life for himself.

SISTERHOOD PREMIER ON STAR TV
Sisterhood, produced by Surec Film had its premier on Friday on Star TV.

The three agree to meet at the wedding. But as Ipek’s new husband Tekin angrily loses control after the party, they strike a fatal blow to his head in a desperate scuffle. Suddenly, in the course of a couple of days, these three go from not knowing of each other’s existence, to being at the centre of a murder cover-up together. And their newly-formed sisterly bond is immediately put to the test.

THE PROMISE RENEWED FOR THIRD SEASON
THE PROMISE has been renewed for a third season on Turkey’s Kanal 7, after the enormous success of the first and second seasons broadcast throughout 2019.
The daily drama series, produced by Karamel Yapim, has been scoring record breaking ratings for its host broadcaster since launching in February this year, and has now started to make waves on the international market. We have already secured sales in Romania, Lithuania, India, Poland and Georgia, with a host of other territories queuing up to acquire the series following MIPCOM. The success, both domestic and international, has seen the romantic drama renewed for a further 256 x 45 min episode run to air through the 2020-21 season.
“THE PROMISE has seen a massive increase in market share for Kanal 7 and international broadcasters have been taking notice. The confirmation of over 400 episodes to be complete by Spring 2021 gives international buyers a guarantee of a quality, long-running product,” says Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights.

VLAD SEASON THREE COMMISSIONED IN ROMANIA
Romanian Pro TV has commissioned a third season of drama series VLAD following the smash hit success of the first two seasons, aired earlier this year.
Hailed by local critics as one of the best Romanian drama series of all time, VLAD scored top ratings both during its first season in February-March 2019 and on its return in September this year. VLAD was launched earlier this year at MIPTV in April where it was selected for the WIT's Fresh TV Conference.
“VLAD is the most ambitious scripted project that we have ever had at Pro TV, and we are extremely happy with the way it was received by the local audience. We are so excited to see where the third season will take us,” says Antonii Mangov, Senior Programming Executive at Pro TV.
Season three will premiere in early 2020.

THE PROMISE SELLS OVERSEAS AS SECOND SEASON STARTS IN TURKEY
Eccho Rights has closed several international sales deals for Turkish Drama series The Promise, which has just made its second season debut in Turkey.
The series, which scored record breaking ratings for its host broadcaster Kanal 7, has been picked up in Poland (TVP), India (MX Player) Lithuania (SIA All Media), and Romania (Antena Group/Happy Channel). These territories join Imedi TV in Georgia which became the first international broadcaster to acquire the series earlier this year.
The Promise returned last week to Turkish screens with the ratings once again impressing for Kanal 7. The series scored more than three times Kanal 7’s average share and the channel's rank rose from 8th overall to 3rd place during broadcast of the tension-filled, romantic, family drama.

NEW DRAMA HIT - MY SWEET LIE
Eccho Rights have agreed a deal with the production company O3 Medya to represent their hit drama series My Sweet Lie (Benim Tatlı Yalanım) internationally and launching the title this fall.
The series, which has aired throughout the summer on Star TV Turkey to top ratings, stars Furkan Palali (Room Number: 309) and Asli Bekiroglu (Jet Sosyete) as the main stars with a stellar performance by young actress Lavinya Ünlüer as the girl at the center of the story, who previously won over audiences as Mila in hit show Stiletto Vendetta.
