When Ahana's father dies she is left utterly devastated. He was a devoted, dedicated and loving father and husband, but when his wife starts an affair it breaks his heart and he is never able to recover. While grieving for her father, she crosses paths with an older man Anant, who himself recently lost his wife. When he realises the younger woman is the daugher of his recently deceased friend, he is moved to connect with her and the two soon become very close. Though Ahana is young and beautiful, Anant's love is pure and he feels a genuine bond with this woman going through the same grieving process that he is. Ahana meanwhile believes she is also in love, though with time she comes to see that this is not a romance but simply a replacement for the comfort and security that her father once provided. Nevertheless the two marry, much to the dissaproval of Ahana's jealous mother. Matters are complicated further when Ahana meets Rehan, a young man that has been fostered and cared for by Anant, and realises that he is the true love she has been missing. Though their love is undeniable, their good hearts make a relationship impossible for Ahana and Rehan, neither willing to betray Anant, a man who means so much to both of them. Ultimately, Ahana is so troubled by her dilemma that she is left with no choice but to take drastic, fatal action to end her pain.
