Zee signs multi-series deal with Eccho Rights

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has signed a deal for four blockbuster television series with the international content distributor, Eccho Rights. These series will premiere on India’s No 1 Premium Entertainment Channel, Zindagi. ZEE has got the rights to broadcast three hit Turkish dramas as well as the blockbuster Ukrainian series, Snowdrop, that launched on Zindagi this week.

The first Ukrainian series to be broadcast in India, Snowdrop (Bessmertnik) was produced by Front Cinema Production for TRK Ukraina, and will air in primetime, Monday to Saturday on Zindagi. The series is based on the original format Ice Adonis, from Korean producers CJ E&M, and follows the story of two step-sisters divided by love and business interests.

The Turkish titles in the deal remain under wraps but Indian viewers can expect series from producers Endemol Shine Turkey and Ay Yapim, whose earlier titles Fatmagul and Kuzey Guney have already enjoyed huge success on the Zindagi platform.

Commenting on ZEE’s association with Eccho Rights, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), Chief Business Officer, Mr. Sunil Buch said, “We have associated with Eccho Rights with an objective of bringing the best stories from across the globe to our viewers on Zindagi.  Eccho Rights is a leading distributor of some of the best content from across Asia, Latin America, Europe and Turkey. This association has aided us in fulfilling our promise to provide handpicked stories with differentiated, finite and realistic content and become the only Indian television channel to provide a truly global viewing experience.”

“Turkish drama has been flourishing on Indian Television and we expect this latest package of series to follow suit. What sets this deal apart however, is the inclusion of Snowdrop. It demonstrates the thirst for great television from all over the world and we are so happy to be involved at a time when Ukrainian TV in particular is getting a lot of well-deserved attention,” says Nixon Yau Lim, Head of Asia Pacific at Eccho Rights.

Zindagi is the only channel in India to bring global content in Hindi, showcasing universal emotions by presenting viewers with the best stories from around the world.

Eccho Rights distributes ready-mades and formats worldwide from offices in Stockholm, Istanbul, Madrid and Manila. The company mission is to empower creativity.
