New Sales and third season for Elif

Eccho Rights has inked two new deals on drama Elif from Green Yapim in Estonia and Peru. While in its native Turkey, the show has been commissioned for season three.

In Estonia, Kanal 2 will start airing the show at the end of this month and Latina in Peru have scheduled broadcast for later this year. Both channels were attracted to the family orientated content and strong female lead.

In Turkey, season three of Elif will be broadcast at the end of September this year, with a new run of 250 x 45 minute episodes. The first two series have been an outstanding success for Kanal 7, more than tripling ratings for the channel.

In addition to these new deals, Elif is pulling in larger than average audiences in Lithuania, repeating the success of runs in Indonesia, Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia.

“Elif is proving a huge ratings winner for broadcasters around the world. The emotional and addictive storyline constantly attract higher then average audience share for channels in both daytime and primetime slots,” comments Fredrik af Malmborg, managing director at Eccho Rights.

Elif tells the story of a young girl who is sent away to live on a farm by her mother. Elif's father owns the farm, but neither father nor daughter knows that they are related. As time goes by, tensions rise and Elif finds herself in the middle of a family power struggle.
