Eccho Rights adds Kill Me Heal Me to Korean scripted catalogue

Eccho Rights have signed a deal with Pan Entertainment in Korea to add Kill Me Heal Me to their catalogue of scripted formats. The deal was completed at this week’s BCWW taking place in Seoul.

The series follows the fortunes of a young man struggling with dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder) and the relationships that develop between his different selves and his secret psychiatrist. First released in 2015, the original was very popular on MBC and won several Korean TV awards.

The script joins a number of other Korean titles in the Eccho Rights line up. “We have close relationships with a number of Korean producers and we are thrilled to confirm another alliance with Pan Entertainment," says Nixon Yau Lim, Head Of Asia Pacific at Eccho Rights.

“We have seen a number of the scripts we represent already turned in to successful new series. As the demand for quality, original drama continues to grow, producers around the world are increasingly looking to new territories such as Korea to provide interesting new storytelling,” adds Nicola Söderlund, Managing Partner at Eccho Rights.

Eccho Rights has previously enjoyed success selling scripts from Korean powerhouse CJ E&M. Who Are You, a supernatural thriller, was sold to ITV Studios in the UK last year, while Ice Adonis was remade as Snowdrop in Ukraine, where the new version enjoyed a ratings-winning run of 100 episodes. A further adaptation of another title in the Eccho Rights scripted catalogue is set to be announced in the coming weeks.
